What inspires me most when creating an idea for a painting, are beautiful horses in a scenic background, a moment in time captured when all of the elements come together for a split second...the lighting just right, a certain look in the horses eye, the mane and tail blowing in a beautiful shape. Something we'd all like to see and it could happen but we rarely if ever get the opportunity to witness it. I like to push this but not to the point of crossing over into fantasy, I want to keep it believable as if you could have really been there.
Since I enjoy painting fine detail, I paint mainly with acrylics on smooth board. I also use colored pencil and graphite pencil as well as some watercolor, airbrush, gouache, and ink mixed in at times.
